Response to "The Table" by GLP

by Tina Steele

More than just a beautiful face accented by a radiant smile,

More than a sister standing tall and exuding unmatched style.

I bring more than a career and a drive for life that can't be measured.

I bring passion and grace and heart that has to be treasured.

By the one who is not afraid to sit where others only dream,

The high place, the throne room, lovely and pristine.

My table is prepared with linen tailored from the finest cloth,

Accented with gold and silver, not questions about your Roth

IRA that is, because I look for more than assets,

See, I was more intrigued by your smile when we met.

I bring strength and vulernability, tenacity and appeal

A willingness to grow with you, but only if you're real

About wanting to cover me  with a garment that's complete.

Not perfect or infallable and I don't want to compete

With your games, boys or music. I want to be a part

Of what fuels you, drives you, the desires of your heart.

My table is laid before you, not as arrayed as others may be,

But with the necessary tools to get you to destiny.

Choose wisely the seat, because only you are able

To decide what meal you take and from what table.
